About the Program

The Department of Communication Systems Engineering (CSE) is dedicated to training engineers that can initiate and lead the development of new technologies in the fields of networking and communications.

Cutting-edge research is conducted by top tier scientists and world renowned researchers, who focus on the fields of networking, hardware, software, and the communication technologies that are required by the industry, in addition to training more than 60 engineering students annually for B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees.

Leading in its applied research approach, the Department of CSE at BGU collaborates closely with both Israeli and global hi-tech companies and is associated with several innovative startups.

The Department of CSE participates in FP7 projects (under the framework of national and
European consortia).

Requirements for Application

The registration conditions are correct at this time and are subject to change depending on supply and demand. To secure your place in the program you wish to be admitted to at an early stage, we recommend that you register early.

B.Sc. degree in Communication System engineering or in closely related fields from an accredited institution at a minimum GPA of 80/100 according to the Israeli grading system.
TOEFL score of at least 85/120 or an equivalent score in an internationally recognized English proficiency exam is required. The English proficiency requirement is waived for applicants who received their B.Sc. degree in a program taught in English.
GRE is recommended but not required.
The candidate must identify a potential advisor (research supervisor) among the faculty's staff. In order to assist with finding an advisor, please visit the BGU Research Portal

The Faculty of Natural Sciences accepts only very strong candidates. We strongly recommend that serious candidates submit a pre-application with all of the following documents.

A copy of the applicant's undergraduate diploma
A copy of the applicant's academic transcripts
A Copy of the applicant's TOEFL/IETLS score
A copy of the applicant's GRE subject score
Two Letters of recommendation from faculty members who are familiar with the applicant's academic work and skills. These should be sent by the recommender directly to rishum@bgu.ac.il
A copy of the first page of your passport
A copy of your CV
